Steps to obtain a Police Check:

Click on the following:
1. APPLY FOR A CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK
a. Select Ontario
b. Select Hamilton Police Service
2. Register For An Account
a. Enter the appropriate information, including a new password
3. Once you have logged back in:
a. Request a Criminal Record Check
b. Ensure that you select Vulnerable Sector when asked
c. To complete the Request, you will need: Driver’s License, credit card, Social Insurance Number
d. Walk through each of the pages, ensuring that you carefully read the small check boxes (you will probably have to check some, while leaving others blank)
e. You can save your information and pause at any time. (To do so, click the Save button located somewhere on the webpage.)
f. If you are requesting the police check as a Volunteer, you may be required to upload a Volunteer Letter from the church. If so, please email: info@mountainside.church to request the letter
4. It may take up to 30 days for your police record check request to be completed.
5. In some cases you may need to provide fingerprints in the scenario where there might be a partial match of identity (any two of: name, gender, birthdate) to another person on police/RCMP criminal lists. In that case, you will need to have fingerprints taken at the police station. To do that:
Call the number in the email and book an appointment at the downtown police station (They will not book appointments by email. You will likely have to leave a message and receive a call-back.)
There is a $65 charge for this process. If you would like to be reimbursed, please email info@mountainside.church
Wait for your Background Check to be finalized (they are backlogged, so there is a long wait)
6. Download your police check, and send it to info@mountainside.church
